AFTER CARE

AFTER CARE

TATTOOS

It is important that you take into account a good aftercare routine to ensure that your tattoo heals properly and remains in good condition. Here are some tips:

Keep it clean: Gently wash your tattoo with mild, fragrance-free soap. Avoid scrubbing or using harsh products.

Apply moisturizer After 2 days, apply a thin layer of a recommended tattoo fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the area hydrated.

Avoid excessive moisture: Don’t soak your tattoo in water, such as swimming pools, hot tubs, or baths or beach for at least two weeks.

Protect from the sun: Shield your tattoo from direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade the colors and damage the healing skin.

Avoid picking or scratching: Itching is a normal part of the healing process, but resist the urge to scratch or pick at your tattoo. Instead, lightly tap or slap the itchy area. Picking can cause scarring and disrupt the healing.

Wear loose clothing: Opt for loose, breathable clothing that won’t rub against your tattoo. This helps prevent irritation and allows the skin to breathe.

Avoid gym workouts or strenuous activities: Refrain from intense workouts or activities that may cause excessive sweating, friction, or irritation on the tattooed area during the initial healing period.

Remember, it’s crucial to consult your tattoo artist if you have any concerns or notice signs of infection, excessive swelling, prolonged redness, or other unusual symptoms during the healing process.

PIERCING

Remember, healing times can vary depending on the type of piercing. If you have any concerns or questions, don't hesitate to contact a professional piercer or a healthcare provider.

Keep it Clean

Clean the piercing with a saline solution or a piercing aftercare spray twice a day. Gently remove any crust that forms around the piercing.

Hands Off

Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands. Only touch the area when cleaning it.

Avoid Twisting or Turning

Leave the initial jewelry in place for the entire healing period. Twisting or turning the jewelry can cause irritation and delay healing.

No Swimming or Soaking

Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or natural bodies of water during the healing period. Soaking the piercing can introduce bacteria.

Avoid Makeup, Perfume, and Hair Products

Keep cosmetics, perfumes, and hair products away from the piercing area.

Loose Clothing

Wear loose-fitting clothing that won't rub against or irritate the piercing.

Limit Movement

If the piercing is in an area that moves frequently (e.g., tongue, lip), be cautious to minimize excessive movement.

Stay Hydrated and Eat Well

Proper nutrition and hydration can support the body's natural healing process.

Avoid Public Gyms/Spas

Public gyms, saunas, and spas can introduce bacteria that may lead to infection. Avoid these places until the piercing is fully healed.

Watch for Signs of Infection

Keep an eye out for signs of infection such as excessive redness, swelling, pain, pus, or fever. If you suspect an infection, seek medical advice.
